I Am Not A Stalker

Or obsessed. But I did wake up at 11:30 on the dot this morning, clump down the stairs, and switch the TV on to watch Lauren Laverne's new job as presenter of cd:uk (as before - yes there are other presenters, but really now, they don't count).

I have a feeling she's not going to have quite as much as a free hand as she did on Planet Pop, but I thought it was okay as these things go. Some fun bits!

To Westlife: "imagine your new album as a pie - how much of that pie would be covers?"

On coming back from the new Robbie Williams video: "and on the basis of that video, he's the new Sting" (complete with a disdainful look on her face)

Bonus points to Franz Ferdinand for getting "I blew him before ya" out at 11:55am on a Saturday. While wearing Dennis The Menace outfits (I have warmed up to the new FF single, probably due to the video, the I Should Be So Lucky breakdown at the end, and realising that they've nicked the riff from Go West. It's the greatest comedy single of the year). (oh, followed shortly after by Lauren adding cheap sausage humour)

Note to Black-haired Tatu girl: a parka isn't going to keep you warm if you chop it off just above the navel, you know…I hear it gets pretty nippy in Russia, so you might want to find the other half of that coat.

Interestingly, the show has jettisoned the sales chart, in favour of MiTracks, an on-line voting thingy. Look at Myleene's choices, and weep. It appears to use cookies to see whether you've voted or not, so if you really want, say, The Go! Team to appear on the show, you know what you have to do…
